Thoughts on MBA study
People are slaves of their experiences and background. Their knowledge, understandings and judgments are coming from what they have learnt before. It is especially true when considering the MBA education.
The professors really have done a great job to make every class full of excitement. The stories of Top 500 companies’ successes stir everyone’s blood, and make students to forget that these only represent maybe 1% of the lucky leaders and companies. Unfortunately, the professors are so focus on telling what you should do if you are the CEO of Southwest air line, that they forget to teach HOW to get there which seems to be a bigger concern to the students.
The irony of the MBA study is, those professors belong to the 99% of the people who fail to make it to the top. As a result, there is no way that they could really tell you how to become a large company’s CEO. They try hard to sell the observations instead.Based on their experiences, not much really they could teach other than how to become a university instructor.
Before Newton, there were a group of MBA professors tried to explain why apple fell to the ground. What they had found was, all the apples were either red, yellow or green. And the red ones fell much often than green ones. Furthermore, they had developed a framework of apple fall’s life cycle: first leaving the tree, then falling in the air and at the end hitting the ground. So they decided to make their living by teaching this framework.
Some "hard" knowledge from MBA, such as finance and writing skills, might be more useful than "soft" knowledge such as global strategies. The "strategies" , "frameworks" types of gossips make MBAs "eye high, hand low", and I doubted how much these frameworks really help. There are so many things that can’t be taught, personality is just one of them, as well as luck.
Consequently, MBA graduates are not doing anything better than those none-MBAs. In my own class, I know that most classmates will stay the same, in the next 5 and maybe 10 years. The EMBA experience will just be an expensive and vivid dream.

Frustration grows
After the China trip, all the excitations seem to be disappeared suddenly, and the routinely, boring life comes back to dominant the day to day activities again.
At the dawn before the EMBA granulation, those opportunities which inspired me to keep moving forward seemed to be gone and I was back to the beginning. There are so many things to think of, the future, the fulfillment of life and the responsibilities, without any definite answers.
And I know life will go on, and one day I will back to the normal me, the one with full of hopes and spirits, no matter how the life would like to treat me.
